Farming with a tiny carbon hoofprint ™ – Regenerative & Transparent
Our values
Dave and I are committed to health:
- Of our soils and water. We use sustainable practices on our pastures to restore and rebuild
- Of our cattle. We provide humane animal care, including a grass-only diet, open pastures and keep the cows in the company of the herd
- Of our family and customers. We grow and sell delicious beef that’s high in nutrition – lots of healthful Omega 3s and CLAs (healthful conjugated linoleic acids)
About Bull Brook Keep
Our farm is 72 hilly acres – perfect for pasturing livestock. We rotate the herd from field to field of fresh grasses, clovers and herbs. This forage promotes natural, healthful growth and a calm disposition. As they graze, the cows get exercise, and deposit fertilizer as they go. A great system!
Our cattle are grass-fed and grass-finished because it’s their natural diet and best for their digestive system. We do not feed grain, growth hormones or sub-therapeutic antibiotics.
We strive to work in harmony with nature. Cattle breed in late summer, calves are born in the spring, and we harvest beeves in late fall.
We are committed to this natural approach. We do not use the growth- and fat-promoting grains, hormones or subclinical antibiotics usually found in industrial operations. Because of our commitment to natural diet, our cattle take nearly a year longer to reach market size and condition. This is a reason why grass-fed-grass-finished beef costs more per pound.
We work to continually improve our practices, and we invite you to walk our fields and see what we do. Please come visit! We’d like to hear about your food journey.
We’d like to be your farmers, and provide you with beef that’ll help you live and eat with a tiny carbon hoofprint (TM).
